The story of pain, and health (part 4)
Welcome to Five Minutes of Health. Doctor Verg here, specializing in car accident injury, diagnoses, and treatment. Today we will continue to talk about chronic pain. And in particularly about fibromyalgia or widespread pain all over the body.
If you were ever in a car accident, make sure to come in and will be able to see you on the same day of your injury in Vancouver or Portland. Diagnostic imaging, therapeutic exercises, deep tissue massage, light force spinal adjustments and other techniques will help you reach full recovery.
Fibromyalgia (FMS) is widespread chronic pain of our body. Two kinds of FMS.
There is a classical fibromyalgia (FMS) and pseudo fibromyalgia. Classical FMS consists of sleep disorder, anxiety syndrome, depression, alteration of brain and central nervous system chemistry. Usually, we can see markers for overall inflammation in the blood and other testing.
One reason why people get fibromyalgia are brain injury and other trauma. Pseudo fibromyalgia are various disorders that are misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia. Pseudo fibromyalgia is not true FMS because there is either a neuromusculoskeletal (brain, nerves, muscles, bones, joint), functional disorders or missed organic disease process (actual diagnosis).
Misdiagnosed disease diagnosis mimicking FMS and chronic widespread pain
Organic diseases that are often missed in the fibromyalgia diagnoses are often anemia, Lyme disease, hypothyroidism, and seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. Seronegative means the usual antibodies in the blood are not found. One example of these factors that we look in the blood is rheumatoid arthritis factor.
Some other missed diagnosis can be occult carcinoma or multiple sclerosis. when someone is diagnosed with fibromyalgia most if not all these diseases need to be ruled out.
Functional disorders mimicking FMS and chronic widespread pain
The functional disorders respond very well to naturopathic treatment and other non- standard care. These are improper diets and functional nutrition deficiencies that can sometimes be measured with blood, stool, or urine testing. Dysfunction of the liver in detoxification Intestinal dysbiosis or leaky gut are some of these functional disorders.

Musculoskeletal disorders that mimic FMS and chronic widespread pain
Some of the musculoskeletal disorders that mimic fibromyalgia are multiple trigger points, ligamentous scar tissues, chronic whiplash, joint dysfunction, significant short leg, chronic disc inflammation, and peripheral neuropathies. Why has your previous chiropractic not helped you? Chiropractic care that addresses all our tissues and causes of pain will be most successful in these complex pain problems. spinal and extremity adjustments will address joint dysfunctions while manual therapy will address ligament scar tissues.Therapeutic exercises will correct specific muscle imbalances while traction/decompression therapy can restore some of the disc height loss. This is how I have discovered with my patients the healing process for their bodies. In following articles, we will address supplements and micronutrients help with fibromyalgia, but a thorough evaluation is crucial as explained above.
We have enough information in our world, but we have not enough motivation, so I hope this will help! Take charge of your health in every situation.
